YWAM Alumni Questions
- Who are YWAM Alumni? Top
Anyone who has been through a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) or a School of Evangelism (SOE) before the days of DTS.
- I have been involved with YWAM before and desire to get involved again. How can I get plugged in? Top
First, locate the GTN Rep closest to you by checking out our Rep Locator. Second, contact the GTN Rep via the information given and express your desire. The Rep will take it from there to help you get plugged in. If you cannot find a GTN Rep in your area, simply contact our National Office.
- I am struggling and frustrated with my current walk with God. How can GTN help? Top
Many of us have felt isolated, not supported, and frustrated because we weren’t walking out dreams we had when we were in DTS or because we didn’t know how to and there was no support to help us. One of the passions of the GTN is to pour into alumni and help, guide and support you in your dreams and callings. Ultimately we hope to plug alumni immediately into a team on coming home from DTS so they can continue uninterrupted what God has started in their lives.
- I would like to help. What kind of things could I do through the GTN? Top
You could become part of an A.C.T.S Ministry Team and target a specific area of business, a university, or area of ministry. You could also become a Local Church Rep (LCR) helping bridge key opportunities for your church and providing them with a host of resources, all of this while still in school or with a job!
- What is an A.C.T.S. Ministry Team? Top
1. A group of Alumni that meet periodically with the Area/ City Representative (ACR).
2. A group of people who have the same passion to impact their business or university.
3. If a local church has more than one YWAM Alumni in it, we would appoint the most suitable Alumni to be the Local Church Representative (LCR) and the whole group would be an A.C.T.S. Ministry Team. In the near future, DTS students will automatically be enrolled in an A.C.T.S. Ministry Team, immediately following their DTS.
- What is a Local Church Rep (LCR)? Top
We want to commission YWAM alumni into being Local Church Representatives in their or another particular church, who will work with and help facilitate A.C.T.S. ministry teams in that church. Any student coming home from DTS can be commissioned to be a LCR.
- What is the role of a Local Church Rep (LCR)? Top
The primary job of the Local Church Rep is to be the bridge (go-between) between the team and the church. The LCR must build relationships with the church pastor and leaders and in wisdom introduce resources that would help mobilize that church toward their mission vision. They may then be responsible for organizing and coordinating an event or program in that church, as the resource would suggest and at the pastor/leaders’ agreement.
- What kind of commitment will this require? Top
Our heart is to get you fired up again, and back into action. You can make any level of commitment you desire, but the goal is that you are called back into service. You can meet on a regular basis, or come when you can.
- How do I join an A.C.T.S Ministry Team or become a Local Church Rep (LCR)? Top
Use the Rep Locator to find your local area GTN Rep. If you cannot find a GTN Rep in your area, simply contact the GTN National Office.
- What else is YWAM doing for YWAM Alumni? Top
YWAMConnect.net, YWAM Associates, Secondary Schools, and various staffing opportunities are just a few ways YWAM is serving the YWAM Alumni. Please contact us for more information.
- How can I stay informed with what is going on in YWAM and with the GTN? Top
First be sure you are in our YWAM Alumni database by contacting Corrie Jaggers at our Alumni Office. You could also sign up at YWAMConnect.net. Contacting a Rep near you is also an excellent way to hear about what is happening locally.
